A Sigh of Relief

I agree with the other Loon review completely. We also love the drive up past all the lakes and when we get here and see the dock and lake our hearts melt with the feeling of freedom. We have stayed in three of the cottages so far and love them all. The smallest cottage now has a gas fireplace and the others have wood. So close to hiking trails and only a mile into town. You can bring your kayaks or boat. The fireplaces are wonderful and the provided wood is such a bonus. Spice racks are are great addition too. Sitting on the huge dock, seeing the sandy and large rock shoreline, owls head mountain range and feeling the fresh air and sun along side the waves and water lapping onto the dock make for heaven on earth. This place is quite a gem and the new owner Jeff is down to earth and caring. This is my favorite place to go, and the Loons are so beautiful to see occasionally during the day and hearing the few calls each night tops off the “This is wonderful!

We have been coming to Waters Edge in June since 2005. We have stayed in Osprey and Sandpiper but our favorite is Loon. There is room for 4 people but we think it is perfect for 2 as the bedrooms are small. We sleep in the queen room and use the twin room for our clothes Works perfectly. The living room is comfy and cozy with a fire in the evening The kitchen is bright and sunny. Rainy afternoons or evenings are spent on the screened porch reading a good book and watching the lake. The nicest part is going out to the chairs on the dock with a wine or a beer in hand and watching the sky colors change with the sunset. There are usually mother mallards with babies, Canada geese and meanders too. After dark the loons make magic with their haunting calls. It is perfection!
